About this event

Hobbies • DIY

Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned stitcher, this relaxed and supportive session will guide you through the basics of Sashiko, from selecting fabric and thread to planning and stitching your own visible mends. We’ll explore simple geometric patterns and talk about how mending can help reduce textile waste while reconnecting us with the things we wear.

What’s included:

  • Guided instruction and demonstrations
  • All materials provided (fabric, thread, needles, practice pieces)
  • A handout to take home with tips and resources

What to bring:

  • A couple of garments in need of repair (ideally a non-strechy material e.g. denim, cotton or linen – bring what you’ve got and we’ll guide you!)
  • Curiosity and a willingness to learn something new

Perfect for:

  • Beginners and experienced sewers alike
  • Those who want to slow down, stitch, and connect
  • Anyone interested in sustainability, slow fashion, and creative arts
