VIRTUAL WORKSHOP OVERVIEW

Every calm classroom has one thing in common: PREDICTABILITY. When both teachers and students know what to expect, disruptions decrease, and learning increases. However, teachers often feel like they have to manage challenging behaviors on their own, without a clear understanding of how they will be supported when needed.

Administrators face the challenge of not knowing how to support their teachers appropriately. When teachers reach out for help, administrators are eager to assist. The question is not whether administrators support their teachers, but rather whether that support aligns with the teachers' expectations. Each teacher has unique needs, which leads to different expectations. An administrator may provide the same support to two teachers, yet each may feel differently about whether or not they received adequate support. Ultimately, the key issue regarding teachers' feelings of support from administrators is the alignment of expectations between teachers and administrators.

Calm classrooms do not happen by chance; this is why we created "Supporting Teachers With Challenging Behavior," a 90-minute virtual workshop for school leaders and others that support teachers. This session introduces clear, school-wide strategies that equip teachers with real-time support when they need it. This training focuses on three powerful strategies that provide administrators with guidance on how to support teachers in creating calm classrooms: classrooms where both students and staff can thrive.

This training focuses on three powerful strategies that provide administrators with guidance on how to support teachers in creating calm classrooms: classrooms where both students and staff can thrive.

TAG OUT – A quick and professional way to step in, allowing teachers to reset without losing classroom control.
TIME OUT – A structured pause that allows disruptive students to regulate and prepare to re-engage.
TAKE OUT – Clear, consistent steps for removing a student when learning is at risk.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Develop a predictable teacher support system using Tag Out, Time Out, and Take Out as part of a school-wide consistency framework.
  • Provide teachers with practical, real-time strategies to maintain calm and focus
  • Strengthen leadership presence by modeling, monitoring, and supporting consistent practices across classrooms.

Is this workshop beneficial for elementary educators?

Our workshops are differentiated to meet the needs of all levels, K-12. With that said, Kelvin Oliver, the presenter, was a PK-6 campus administrator when he implemented Restorative Practices on a campus. His time as a campus administrator is where he developed many of the concepts that are presented during these workshops. While the focus will be on all grade levels, elementary educators will not walk away from this workshop feeling that it didn't apply to them.

Will I be able to earn CEUs if I attend this workshop?

Unfortunately, we can't guarantee that you will be able to receive continuing education units if you attend our workshops. We offer our workshops around the country and we are in the process of ensuring our attendees can earn credits in the future.

Are these workshops only intended for administrators?

No, you don't have to be an administrator to attend these workshops. All educators that attend these workshops will find great benefit in these workshops.
