SPEAKER SPOTLIGHT

Ran Carter is Regional Director, West Region at Export Development Canada (EDC). She oversees mid-market business development, market coverage strategy, team management, and leads EDC’s representation in British Columbia. Her team works directly with Canadian companies to provide financial solutions, knowledge, international network and connections. Previously, Ran served as EDC’s Chief Representative for Greater China, where she led international teams to help Canadian companies succeed in the market. Before that, she was Regional Manager for the Indo-Pacific, playing a key role in advancing EDC’s strategic initiatives across the region. Ran began her career at EDC as Senior Strategy Advisor and contributed significantly to shaping EDC’s 2030 Corporate Strategy.

Ran holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor Degree in Mathematics from Queen’s University. Ran serves on the Economic Development and Fiscal Committee of the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade and sits on the Boards of the Forum for International Trade Training (FITT) and the Canadian International Council (Edmonton Chapter). Ran is a Certified International Trade Professional (CITP), recognized for her leadership and expertise in international business and global trade.
