Virtual Read Watch Talk Club: Anne of Green Gables

For the first Read Watch Talk meeting of 2026, we're exploring the beloved world of L.M. Montgomery's 1908 classic, Anne of Green Gables. Since there are many film & TV adaptations of the story, the recommended version for this discussion is the 1985 release with Megan Follows and Jonathan Crumbie, but feel free to choose a different one & still attend the meeting! No matter your choice, our powerful female character Anne Shirley remains in every one, and we'll get together to discuss our experiences of her story.

Literature purists will stand by the book. Film buffs will make a case for the movie. Either way, there is something to discuss. Take part in our movie-book club by reading and watching on your own, and then discussing the merits of each with us online.
