Overview

Prepare for baby, learn about Jewish parenting, and make friends. (New Parents) (Jewish Parenting)

Learn about rituals during pregnancy, labor and delivery, choosing a Hebrew or Jewish name, circumcision/bris, naming and welcoming ceremonies, Jewish perspectives on parenting and more. Parents expecting via surrogacy or adoption welcome!

This class will be facilitated by JBN Director Carol Booth, MAEd, along with local professional and lay leaders. Become informed and make friends.

Class Philosophy: Jewish Baby Network is committed to providing information in a non-judgmental manner. It is our intention to educate parents about the traditions, rituals and resources, and it is up to each parent to decide how much or little to incorporate into their family’s life.

The suggested donation for this event is $18 to help cover costs. No one is turned away, so please give what you can.

Our programs are designed for families with children aged 0-36 months, but bring the whole family! Grandparents and extended family welcome too. We always have great snacks, fun art supplies, and play spaces for older siblings too. We welcome everyone, including unaffiliated, single and multi-parent, multi-faith, multi-ethnic, multi-abled, and LGBTQ+ families.

JBN Sponsors: Congregations Beth Am, Beth Jacob, Kol Emeth, Or Shalom, Sherith Israel and The Kitchen.

JBN Major Funders: The Koret Foundation, Rodan Family Foundation, and Leslie Family Foundation.

Jewish Baby Network is a program of Jewish Family and Children’s Services’ Center for Children and Youth. JFCS supports families from newborn to the elderly. Please visit the JFCS website for more information about all their great programs.
