Where is PPLA located?

Our school is located at 4414 Wilkens Avenue. We have taken over the former Our Lady of Victory School building. The church will continue operating separately, but we now lease and occupy the school space.

When does the school open?

We are currently making building improvements and anticipate completing construction by June. Building tours will begin in July, ahead of our official opening in August.

Question 3

Will there be an opportunity to tour the school?

Yes. In-person tours will begin in July once renovations are complete. We’re also planning to offer a virtual video walkthrough for families who wish to explore the space online.

When does the application period close?

The application period closes January 15 in accordance with Baltimore County’s policy.  We will not close early, even if many applications are received. Families are encouraged to apply anytime before the deadline.

What grades are offered for the first year?

We will open with Pre-K3, Pre-K4, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade. Each year we will add an additional grade level until we reach 5th grade, as required by our charter.

What is the student-to-teacher ratio?

-Pre-K classrooms: 10–12 students per class, with 1 teacher and one paraprofessional.
-Kindergarten and 1st grade: approximately 22 students per class, with one teacher and one paraprofessional.  We also plan to have a rotating classroom assistant for additional behavioral and instructional support.

Will you have before and after school care?

Yes! We will offer both before and after care programs. These programs will include breakfast in the morning and academic or enrichment activities in the afternoon. All Year 1 students will have the opportunity to participate—no waitlist is expected.

Is there a fee or application for before and after care?

A brief application will be required, and more details will be shared directly with enrolled families. We are also exploring participation in the Autism Waiver Program to help provide additional supports and resources.

Will there be summer programming?

Yes. We were approved to offer an extended summer program through mid-July.
 Students will have a short break before returning in August.

Will meals be provided?

Yes. We will participate in the Free and Reduced Meals Program through Baltimore County Public Schools.

Will transportation be provided?

At this time, bus transportation is not available. We are working with MDOT to explore discounted options for families using public transportation. Our goal is to provide school bus service by Year 2 or 3.

Will there be a Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO)?

Yes! We will launch a Parent Town Hall / PTO starting next school year.  We plan to offer both virtual and in-person sessions to encourage participation.

What is the total school size?

Our enrollment will be intentionally small, capped at 316 students. This helps us maintain a close-knit community and personalized learning environment.
