Virtual Event: Celebrating Educators and 70 Years of Hog Island
Overview
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Hog Island Audubon Camp! Join us and last year's scholarship recieptiant, Deborah Hammer to celebrate this milestone with our community.
As an Autism and Low Incidence Specialist with Arlington County Schools, she coaches hundreds of teachers, paraprofessionals, and other staff across the district who work with over 1,200 students. During this virtual event you'll learn how the program inspired her to develop nature-focused strategies that help make academic content fun and engaging for students that learn differenlty.
Who should attend:
This event is open to anyone interested in hearing about Deborah’s camp experience, exploring ways to bring nature into education, and celebrating the legacy of Hog Island Audubon Camp. We also hope to connect with other educators who might benefit from Deborah’s insights and consider applying for future NVBA scholarship opportunities.
