Attend as a Witness
Come and witness the truths of individuals who have been harmed by state systems in their lifetimes or across generations.
Your presence is powerful. You help hold space for truth, healing, and the possibility of repair.
By showing up, listening deeply, and sharing what you’ve learned with others, you help build a culture of accountability and care in Vermont.
What Does It Mean to Be a Witness?

No speaking is required. No special training is needed.Just come. Be present. Be part of the process.

What to Expect at the Event
Some truths may be difficult to hear. People may share stories of violence, discrimination, or personal trauma. You are encouraged to care for yourself in whatever way you need.
Each event will include:
- A quiet room for rest or reflection
- Support from our on-site Care Team
- Snacks, water, and places to sit
- Grounding and ceremonial activities
- Language and accessibility support
You may leave and return at any time.
Registration Encouraged (but not required)
Registration is not required to attend, but we encourage you to sign up in advance. This helps us plan for food, accessibility needs, and space.
