The Verizon Forward for Good Showcase is an opportunity for the participating startups from the Disability Innovation cohort to pitch their technology and share their impact story to potential partners, investors, customers, and Verizon stakeholders. Join us on Global Accessibility Awareness Day to celebrate innovation built with and for the disability community.

4:00pm – 5:15pm: Startup pitches and presentations

5:15pm - 7:00pm: Outdoor reception! Meet the startups, demo and learn more about their solutions, and celebrate GAAD riverside with one of the best views in the city!

About the Cohort

The startups that participated in the Disability Innovation cohort are working on solutions that use next-generation technology to advance equity across many areas of Disability Innovation. The cohort includes products for the blind and visually impaired, deaf and hard of hearing, individuals with complex motor disabilities, and people with mobility disabilities.

5 of the 7 startups in this cohort are founded or led by people with disabilities, and all startups have demonstrated significant efforts to validate their solutions with the disability community. Click here to learn more about the startups and their solutions.

About the Accelerator

The Verizon Forward for Good Accelerator, built in tandem with innovation agency Alley, invites leaders in technology, innovation, and social entrepreneurship to support startups using leading-edge technology, like 5G, MEC, AI, and XR to drive meaningful social change. This initiative is part of Citizen Verizon, Verizon’s plan for economic, environmental, and social advancement.

In-Person COVID Policy

For the safety of all attendees, all individuals will be expected to wear a mask at any time indoors for the duration of this event.

Presenters during the event may remove their mask while distanced and speaking, but will be required to wear a mask at all other times unless they are in the outdoor section of the venue or need to remove their mask for accessibility reasons.

Upon Arrival

All guests will be asked to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 by providing a copy of or image of their vaccination card.
Anyone appearing unwell or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 will be asked to leave the event immediately.
