Details: The goal of this course is to provide the student with the knowledge, skills and values necessary to respond to common passenger vehicle crash/rescue incidents and function as a technical rescuer at the operations level in accordance with NFPA 1006: Standard for Technical Rescue Professional Qualifications. This 28-hour course will provide basic, operations-level knowledge and skills as they pertain to common passenger vehicle rescue incidents. Topics will include vehicle anatomy and supplemental restraint systems, vehicle stabilization, limited patient access and management techniques as well as the influence of advanced technology associated with newer vehicles on rescue operations. The course concludes with a review of the processes leading to termination of the vehicle rescue incident and post-incident analysis.
