9:30 What’s New in Vectorworks 2020 – Scott Campbell, CEO at dakantus+ as

The Norwegian distributor of Vectorworks will show off the new 2020 version with its approachable and easy-to-learn suite of new features that allow users to visualize data in a whole new way. GIS improvements, data visualization, history-based modeling, IFC referencing, Revit export, improved section views, and an improved and game-changing Hardscape Tool — these are just a few of the 2020 features which Scott Campbell will unveil.

11:15 From Micro to Macro, From Sketches to BIM – Hanna-Liisa Mõtus, Architect at 3+1 architects, Tallinn, Estonia

Hanna-Liisa Mõtus will share her experiences with Vectorworks through her work on a variety of projects by the Estonian architectural firm 3+1 architects. Her talk will present both their work and wide use of Vectorworks through different stages and scales of design — from private houses to public buildings and large scale urban planning, from sketches and conceptal designs to complex BIM modelling.

12:45 Vectorworks Spotlight in Large Companies – Hans Peter Jenssen, Designer at Bright Norway

Hans Peter Jenssen will discuss some of the key points to consider when implementing Vectorworks in a larger organisation that uses multiple CAD platforms. He will share some of the most important lessons learned in the ongoing work at Bright Norway and will also talk about the project to implement an industry-wide template for layer and class management created together with NRK and some of the industry’s leading professionals in Norway.

13:30 What's New in Spotlight, Braceworks™, and Vision + GDTF/MVR and the MA3 Jim Woodward, Vectorworks, Inc., one of the creators of the Braceworks™ add-on module for Vectorworks Spotlight software.

Jim Woodward will give an in depth presentation of the powerful new features in Spotlight, Braceworks™, and Vision 2020, and will talk about the Vectorworks acquisition of ConnectCad and what that will mean for professionals who work with broadcast, AV, lighting and IT networks or any other type of connected system. To wrap things up, he will demo workflows centering around the General Device Type Format (GDTF), and My Virtual Rig (MVR), the new data exchange method that allows easy previsualization and communication directly between Vectorworks, consoles or on PC Visualizers.

14:30 Spotlight Insider – Ola Bråten, Lighting Designer at NRK

Ola Bråten, a resident Lighting Designer at NRK, the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, will take us on a deep dive into his past productions for the stage. He will demonstrate how he utilizes Vectorworks Spotlight to achieve both his set and lighting designs, and will include topics such as integration with Lightwright, use of different Plug-Ins, working with views, patching fixtures and export to GrandMA2, to name a few.

13:30 Norwegian Housing Gets The BIM TreatmentMahtab Aslam, Architect at Drøbak Arkitektkontor AS

Mahtab Aslam has been the senior architect on a number of recent medium-sized Norwegian residential projects in which Vectorworks Archtiect has been the go-to application. His presentation will focus on design and documentation processes which he and Drøbak Arkitektkontor have developed as a part of their flexible BIM workflow for such projects, from preliminary sketches and schematic design to final presentations, working drawings and detailing.

For landscape professionals and architects alike, the new Geographic Information System (GIS) toolset and integration with Esri’s ArcGIS online services, along with the new approaches to modeling hardscapes, with automatic and customizable vertical alignment, Vectorworks 2020 promises invaluable BIM for landscape architecture functionality.
