Seth Berkowitz, Founder and CEO of Insomnia Cookies, dreamed up the idea for the late-night bakery in 2003 while working toward his economics degree at The University of Pennsylvania. Inspired by the lack of late-night sweet treat options when studying for an exam or playing video games with friends, Seth decided to bake up a batch of cookies for himself and began to hand them out to friends and fellow students, imagining a business that catered to people just like him: Insomniacs. Between classes, he began baking large batches of cookies and delivering them, and it all took off from there. Over the past 20 years, Seth has scaled and evolved Insomnia Cookies from a college startup to the globally recognized brand that it is today, best known for serving and delivering warm, delicious cookies. Insomnia empowers its cult-like community of Insomniacs to own the night by allowing them to satisfy their cravings anywhere, anytime, with most stores open until 1 a.m. or later.
