About this event
Come learn all about the good change Vermont Community Loan Fund borrowers are making up on College Hill!
In recent years, our brave little state capital has seen a lot of change. Post-COVID, there are fewer workers coming to town everyday, supporting local businesses. Flooding in 2023 and 2024 has made things even more challenging.
We've been collaborating on a new vision for Montpelier: inclusive, resilient & thriving.
Meet three of our Montpelier borrowers about their plans for the future and how VCLF is helping them get there:
- Kianna Bromley, Montpelier Performing Arts Hub
- Elias Gardner, New School of Montpelier
- Mark Somerville, Greenway Institute
Learn how you can get involved in impact investing in Vermont, for Vermont, with VCLF.
Enjoy food & beverages from VCLF borrowers Chef Jewelz and Wendy Girón and their incredible food trucks: Jamaican Jewelz and La Chapina.
WE HOPE THAT YOU WILL JOIN US!

THE VERMONT COMMUNITY LOAN FUND is a mission-driven, community-focused alternative lender. We envision an inclusive and resilient Vermont where people and communities have the power to prosper. We invest in people and communities to create a just and thriving Vermont.
We provide loans and other resources to local businesses, community organizations & nonprofits, early care & learning providers and developers of affordable housing who don’t qualify for a loan from a traditional lender. We develop and promote innovative capital-based solutions to issues of poverty, justice and opportunity.
The money we lend is loaned to us by impact investors who want to do more with their money. VCLF investors want a safe, sensible way to invest in Vermont, doing good for Vermonters today and saving for their own tomorrow. In thirty-eight years, we've never failed to repay an investor. Individuals & families, institutions, communities of faith, community organizations: EVERYONE can invest in Vermont through the Vermont Community Loan Fund.
Today, our portfolio consists of 301 loans with $42 million outstanding, representing employment for 2,237 Vermonters, 1,720 affordable homes, quality early care & learning serving 1640 children & families, and community organizations & facilities providing essential services for 190,665 Vermonters annually. Since 1987, we’ve loaned over $161 million to finance 8,872 jobs, 5,660 homes, care for 5,442 children and essential services for hundreds of thousands of Vermonters.
