Vaughn Branch Habitat Workday
Overview
Join Woods & Waters Land Trust for a morning of hands-on conservation at Vaughn Branch Nature Preserve! We’ll be working together to remove invasive plants and protect the rare, native species that call this special place home — including two endangered plants found only in a few locations in Kentucky. No experience needed — we’ll provide guidance, tools, and supplies.
Why It Matters: Non-native plants like bush honeysuckle and Japanese chaff flower can quickly take over forest understories, outcompeting the native plants that wildlife depend on. Regular removal protects the hard work volunteers have done in past years and helps ensure these rare species don’t lose their foothold.
