Vanessa Lillie joins us to discuss her new novel The Bone Thief, which features the return of archaeologist Syd Walker, who is called on to investigate when a Native teenager vanishes from her small town—a place with dark ties to an elite historical society. The deeper Syd digs, the more she realizes this is not an isolated incident. But exposing the truth means confronting not just the town's most powerful families, but also a legacy of violence that refuses to stay buried.

Vanessa Lillie is the author of the thrillers Blood Sisters, Little Voices and For the Best, and coauthor of the Young Rich Widows series. Originally from Oklahoma, Vanessa is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation.

Lorén Spears, enrolled Narragansett Tribal Nation citizen and Executive Director of Tomaquag Museum, holds a Master’s in Education and received honorary degrees from both the University of Rhode Island and Roger Williams University. Spears has contributed to a variety of publications, and has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors.
