Harriet Stone, with her 12-year-old foster child Lovey in tow, move from a chaotic and tramuatic environment seeking peace in "The Mysterious Death of Junetta Plum". But after just one night in the custody of her cousin, she soon comes to realize that peace is not quite ready to have her. In the face of racism and the threat of danger ever-looming, Wesley sets her protagonist down a long and winding road to uncover the reason behind her cousin's untimely murder.
