TTS is pleased to announce the UTILE Industry & Investor Partnering Summit London,
Join us for the full programme, coffee breaks, lunch and networking reception, with a programme of IP, partnering and finance talks, and presentations by selected bio/health spin-outs and tech transfer projects selected from a pipeline of 1200 EC funded research projects.
The morning programme features sessions on :
- Intellectual Property strategies for research result valorization
- Partnering and collaborating with industry partners
- Raising Venture Capital for start-up and growth companies

Confirmed expert speakers include:
- Mark Wilson, Managing Director, Strategic Technology Bioconsulting. Mark is a professional with an extensive track record in industry business development, finance, in and out-licensing, and start-up development.
- Paul Tully, Partner, McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff LLP. Paul is a PhD chemist and Partner and Firm Co-Chair at leading US IP firm MBHB LLP, based in Chicago and with a regular presence in London to support European clients.
- Kevin Noonan, Partner, McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff LLP. Kevin serves as Chair of the firm’s Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals Practice Group. An experienced biotechnology patent lawyer, Dr. Noonan brings more than 20 years of extensive work as a molecular biologist studying high-technology problems in serving the unique needs of his clients. His practice involves all aspects of patent prosecution, practice before the PTAB, and litigation. He represents pharmaceutical companies both large and small on a myriad of issues, as well as several universities in both patenting and licensing to outside investors. He has also filed amicus briefs in landmark patent and other cases to district courts, the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court involving patenting issues relevant to biotechnology. He was recognized in IAM Magazine as one of their “World’s Leading IP Strategists” in 2018.
- James Baillieu, Corporate Partner, Bird & Bird. James is a corporate partner based in London and advising clients ranging from start-ups to multinationals, investment banks and private equity funds - on M&A, IPO's, securities offerings, private equity and venture capital investments.
The afternoon will feature presentations of UTILE selected project managers and start-up CEOs to a panel of experts from industry, venture capital, IP and innovation who provide feedback to presenters. These projets are among those selected by TTOs such as LifeArc, Ascenion GmbH, Karolinska Innovations, and BTO, as having promising potential for commercialization.
The format of the event is, as always in the TTS style, interactive and designed to maximise opportunities for networking and business development.
The Summit takes place in The Studio at White City Place - a convenient London location just 12 minutes by Tube from the Heathrow Express at Paddington, and just 25 minutes by Tube from either the Gatwick Express at London Victoria or the Eurostar station at St. Pancras.
Attendance is free of charge however advance registration is required. SMEs and projects invited by UTILE can register by entering the Access Code provided with their invitation.
