The aging Lear divides her kingdom among the two daughters who flatter her the most and banishes her third child, the only one who loves her. Her eldest daughters both then reject her at their homes, leaving Lear to wander through a storm as her madness slowly takes over. Through betrayal and madness, Lear unravels and faces the consequences of her actions, leading to nothing but death and despair.
