This workshop introduces participants to key concepts that support more just and effective organizational practice. Together, we will explore the
difference between equality and equity, examine how the lens of systemic oppression can deepen our understanding of barriers faced by individuals
and communities, and consider how organizations can apply this framework to guide meaningful action and change. Participants will leave with
practical insights to strengthen equity-focused decision-making in their work.
Objectives:
1. Identify the differences between equality and equity
2. Recognize the lens of systemic oppression framework
3. Identify organizational actions and change using the lens of systemic oppression as a guide

Instructor: Gina Tremonti Gembel, MSW
Gina designs and facilitates learning experiences that help people create lasting change in their organizations and communities. Her background includes adult education, curriculum development, program coordination, and grant writing. Gina uses these skills to assist helping professionals and students work across systems to address complex social challenges through collaboration. She also teaches, mentors, and guides emerging social work leaders, preparing the next generation of leaders and advocates. She hold a Master’s in Social Work with a concentration in Organizational and Community Practice.
