Together, we will:- hear stories from the field (with guest speakers, too!)- do hands-on activities (not just lectures!)- learn from expert-led sessions (engaging, dynamic lessons)
Create a design research playbook to take with you!
A note from your bootcamp coach:
"I’ve been facilitating UX Research studies since 2013 when I was a UX Analyst at Best Buy. It became my bread & butter as I then went onto Optum (UHG) and spent 3 years partnering with Research Firms such as Leede Research to recruit, and test digital products in the lab. I have countless usability tests and user interviews under my belt.I'm here to share lessons learned along the way and give valuable insight to people yearning to do more formal research studies. Every designer and product person should have this wisdom!
Some things we will dive into:
- Exploratory Research
- User Interviewing
- Contextual Inquiries
- Day in the Life Studies
- Journey Mapping
- Usability Testing
I was encouraged to run this again since I have so much insight from my many years in the field. Some of the students I met while coaching Azul 7's 3-day bootcamp in Minneapolis are still raving about the activities we did and how it impacted their design thinking. The bootcamp helped a lot of people open up to research in new ways, and get creative in how they learn together. In our digital-centric world, it’s important to know how to run your own studies. I've found many designers don’t have the experience or lack confidence in taking on the research, especially if it's not in their title or job description.
This bootcamp boosts confidence! Everyone leaves with a playbook they create, so they can put learnings into practice immediately."
Learning in a group setting is always rewarding 😊I hope you'll join us Saturday, Sep 14- Wed.m Sep16, 2025.
