This lecture delves into the unique challenges and opportunities of designing UX for AI-driven systems. We will move beyond traditional UX principles to explore how to craft clear, predictable, and delightful user journeys when the underlying system can learn, adapt, and even generate its own responses.

Participants will learn how to:

Understand the AI Black Box: Grapple with the inherent opacities of AI and develop strategies to build user trust and transparency even when the system's internal workings are complex.
Design for Adaptability and Learning: Explore how to create user interfaces and interactions that gracefully accommodate AI's evolving capabilities and potential for unexpected outputs.
Mitigate AI's Pitfalls: Identify common UX challenges in AI, such as managing user expectations, addressing biases, handling errors, and designing for explainability.

Engr. Kat Usop [NYIT, ex-Duke] is a serial entrepreneur driving innovation at the intersection of technology and healthcare. With a strong foundation in industrial Research and Development (R&D) focused on Digital Healthcare Technologies, she spearheads the creation of AI-enabled, user-centric, and accessible healthcare solutions.
