By Rice University's Baker Institute

Overview

Join us for an engaging conversation with Ted Deutch about US Policy in the Middle East.

The Baker Institute for Public Policy will host Ted Deutch, CEO of the American Jewish Committee and former chair of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Middle East, for a wide-ranging conversation with Ambassador David M. Satterfield, director of the Baker Institute.

Drawing on their decades of diplomatic and congressional experience, Deutch and Satterfield will discuss the shifting landscape of U.S. engagement in the Middle East, including support for Israel to strengthen and expand regional normalization efforts. They will also examine the rise of antisemitism and the implications for international security, democratic institutions, and U.S. leadership. The event will provide context for understanding current U.S. policy developments in the Middle East. It is free and open to the public.
