Please join me in a presentation and discussion around US and UK responses to modern security threats, future defence and security planning. Colonel Douglas Warnock (USSTRATCOM) and Nicholas Taylor (Dstl) will be joining us to share their views and experiences of these important issues. We are particularly keen to promote dialogue and discussion about future ways to deter contemporary security threats such as space warfare, cyber security, the use of drones, international terrorism and nuclear weapons. As well as broader security threats such as migration, population growth, the use of the media and public opinion. All of these issues touch upon modern approaches to deterrence planning.

Colonel Doug Warnock is the United States Strategic Command’s (USSTRATCOM) Liaison Officer to the UK's Ministry of Defense (MoD). His education background includes a degree in Aerospace Engineering and three Masters degrees in Business Administration, Operations Research and Strategic Studies. Col Warnock has over 25 years of Active Duty military service in the United States Air Force and has successfully commanded B-52 units at both the squadron and group levels.

Nicholas Taylor is a strategic analyst at the UK Ministry of Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl). Following a degree in international relations, Nik took a commission in the RAF and then worked as a defence consultant. He has been an MOD analyst for over a decade, leading research and analysis on deterrence and strategic influence, and providing advice to the highest levels of UK Government.
