We’re back! Season III of Uppity starts here. Arts, culture and politics – all dripped in unmitigated, unapologetic, uninhibited Blackness at its most unashamedly highbrow.

EYITEMI
This month, we start with a special opening performance by the BBC Jazz Awards winner Eyitemi. Then we ease into our first-ever competition:

FLEEING FARAGE!
Reform is leading in the polls. Nigel Farage looks increasingly like Britain’s next Prime Minister. If your Blackdar or Browndar is working, it should be giving a ‘danger sound’. Britain’s ethnic minorities now have one simple question that we must have an answer for: what is your escape route? For a chance to win a special prize*, present your best escape route idea live at this month’s Uppity for a chance to win the FLEEING FARAGE prize*.

CHARLIE KIRK: SAINT OR SUPREMACIST?
On the 10th of September, Charlie Kirk was murdered. What emerged following his murder was the stark difference in understanding who this man was. At Uppity this month, we will take a deep dive discussion on who Charlie Kirk actually was and seek to answer the question: was he indeed a misunderstood saint and free speech martyr (as much of the media would have us believe) or a stone-cold supremacist and propagandist?

THE TRIAL OF POLITICAL DIVERSITY
The rising tide and re-mainstreaming of racism in Britain has coincided with once inconceivable diversity at the top of British politics. Far too often, the racism in society is often encouraged or tolerated by the very figures of racial progress at the top of politics. The perplexing question that we must now seek to answer is: what has diversity at the elite end of politics benefited more: the forces of racism or anti-racism? Join us for The Trial of Political Diversity.

All speakers and panellists will be announced shortly. But critically, all decisions will be made by you – our jury of experts.

See you on the 21st October – we even include snacks in the ticket price!

*FLEEING FARAGE prize is a yearlong membership to a racist party of your choice!
