Up, Up & Away! - String Orchestra, Concertino Strings, and Fiddle Ensemble

This concert takes place in the Taylor Auditorium located inside SUNY SCCC's Begley Building.

String Orchestra pairs Beethoven’s Allegro con brio from Symphony No. 5 (arr. O’Neill)—all forward drive—with the timeless song “Over the Rainbow” (Arlen/Harburg). Jimmy Webb’s “Up, Up and Away” (arr. Ployhar) adds easy lift, and The Lamps of Deepavali (Ramachandran/Ford) brings festive color and rhythm.

Concertino Strings offers the clear, sunny writing of Mozart’s Symphony No. 15 (arr. Dackow), the scene-painting of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition (arr. Del Borgo), and a gentle close with Richard Meyer’s A Quiet Place.
