Evenning Unwind Write.

4 Sundays. November 02, 09, 16, 23.

7:30 - 9 PM {EST}

Ease into Sunday evenings with a generative & interactive writing workshop.

Join us for (4) consecutive Sundays of generative writing for POC/BIPOC. Together we create, share and explore stories using unique prompts to propel us beyond what we create alone.

At the end of the series each participant will have at least (8) new first draft stories.

About the methodology:

Illuminating Our Voices (IOV) workshops follow the AWA (Amherst Writers & Artists) philosophy:

  • All work is treated as fiction.
  • Every person is a unique storyteller with an abundance of creativity. There is no 'right way'.
  • We listen to stories for what has impact, what's strong. We do not critique.

About your facilitator:

Isabella has curated creative workshops for POC/BIPOC communities15+ years she. She is an Amherst Writers & Artists (AWA) certified facilitator and affiliate. She has been engaged with AWA methodology workshops since 1999. She has honed her writing and facilitation skills with: Bronx Council on the Arts, Cave Canem, Latina Fifty-Plus, Literary Cleveland, VONA (Voices of Our Nations Art), the Writing Institute at Sarah Lawrence College, WOC (Women of Color) Writers and others. Her writing has been included in: Cleveland Humanities Festival, Boundaries & Borders, Peregrine and Azahares. She is a 2024-2025 Breakthrough Writing Resident with Literary Cleveland. She has 30 years experience in education from K-12 teaching to non-profit management and college administration.She believes joy can always be found in collective spaces of shared creation.


This workshop is limited to a total of 10 participants.
