Welcome to Unwind and Shine: Learn How to Stress Less and Be Your Best! Join us for an enlightening 6 week series of online events. Are you feeling overwhelmed and looking for ways to relax and boost your well-being? This event is perfect for you! Reflect on the cause of your stress and discover practical tips and techniques to manage it, improve your mental health, and enhance your overall quality of life. Let's embark on this journey together towards a healthier and happier you. Don't miss out!

Open to everyone ages 18-30

Limited to 10 spots per meeting



Goals:

  • Build healthier thought patterns and coping skills.
  • Understanding how to balance time and money management in your everyday life.
  • Foster growth in relationships through boundaries, communication, conflict resolution, and self awareness.
  • Learn how to utilize SMART goals in your academics and future planning.
  • Create a supportive space for learning, sharing, and community.



    Group Therapy Expectations:


Confidentiality: What is shared in the group stays in the group. Everyone must respect the privacy of others.

Respect: Be respectful of others’ experiences, emotions, and opinions. No interrupting, judging, or criticizing.

Active Listening: Pay attention when others are speaking. Avoid side conversation and distractions.

Participation: Contribute to discussions when comfortable. It's okay to share but it's also okay to remain silent if you need to.

No Cross-Talk: Speak from your own experience using "I" statements. Avoid giving unsolicited advice or debating others' feelings.

Timeliness: Arrive on time and stay for the full duration of the session to maintain the group's flow.

No Substance Use: Refrain from using drugs or alcohol before or during group therapy.

Safety First: Be mindful of triggers. Avoids graphic description of self-harm, violence, or substance abuse that may distress others.

Equal Time: Be mindful of sharing time. Allow others the opportunity to speak and avoid dominating the conversation.

Be Honest: Speak your truth. This is a safe space to express your feelings and thoughts without fear of judgment.

Follow the Facilitator's Guidance: Respect the facilitator's direction for the benefit of the group process.

Cameras Must be On: The group is virtual, so cameras on will ensure participation and transparency.

Pre and Post Test: There will be a poll sent before and after the session for attendees to respond to so the facilitators can gage the effectiveness of the group sessions.

Explore how stress affects both your body and mind, and practice strategies like breathing, mindfulness, and relaxation to restore balance.

6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Session 2: Challenging Negative Thoughts and Applying Creative Therapies

Learn how to identify unhelpful thoughts, reframe them in healthier ways, and build a more positive mindset using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques. You will also learn coping strategies through various creative therapies such as music,art, and movement therapy.

Session 3: Setting and Maintaining Boundaries

Understand the importance of boundaries in protecting your mental health, and practice ways to communicate them confidently in different areas of life.
