Unmute Yourself workshop
Overview
Unmute Yourself Workshop
Unmute Yourself is a creative, affirming workshop crafted specifically for BIPOC, Caribbean, queer non-binary, and LGBTQI+ people who face insecurity about who they are and what they offer in today's society. In a safe space, participants will learn to embrace and express their identities and emotions through movement, art, silence, and authentic connection. The workshop offers participants an opportunity to breathe, reconnect with themselves, and build meaningful relationships with others who share similar experiences. The workshop will be conducted with two groups of adults; one for women, and the other for men. Both groups will come together at the end of the workshops for a social mixer and games activity.
Why participate in this workshop?
Many BIPOC, Caribbean, queer non-binary, and LGBTQI+ people know what it feels like to shrink themselves or question their worth, often in spaces that overlook or silence their unique experiences. Unmute Yourself was born from the need for spaces where voices are heard, stories are valued, and authenticity is celebrated. This workshop honors the wisdom and resilience present in our communities, offering room to rediscover and reignite the inner fire. This is a chance for people to revisit their journey, nurture their voice, and reconnect to truths that may have been quieted by external pressures. Here, vulnerability is strength, and community is a source of healing - showing up together, learning from each other, and building foundations of trust and pride.
