Unmasking ADHD/ASD - How to Navigate Post-Diagnosis Skill Regression

Receiving a late diagnosis of ADHD or Autism can bring huge relief — but also an unexpected wave of exhaustion, confusion, and a drop in functioning. If you’ve found yourself suddenly struggling with things you used to “manage just fine,” you are not failing — you're unmasking.

This free webinar offers clarity, compassion, and tools for navigating the very real phenomenon of post-diagnosis skill regression. We’ll explore:

  • Why skill regression happens after diagnosis
  • The emotional toll of lifelong masking
  • How to rebuild capacity without shame
  • Strategies to support executive functioning, self-trust, and daily routines

Whether you’re newly diagnosed or still adjusting years later, this session offers validation, insight, and practical support for your journey.

Frequently asked questions

Who is this webinar for?

This session is designed for adults who were diagnosed with ADHD or Autism later in life and are experiencing confusion, burnout, or a loss of previously "functional" skills. Allies and loved ones are also welcome to attend.

What is skill regression?

Skill regression refers to the sudden difficulty in managing tasks or routines that once felt manageable — often triggered by the emotional and neurological shifts that happen after diagnosis and unmasking.

Will this be recorded?

Yes! A replay will be available for all registered attendees. You'll receive an email with the recording link shortly after the event.

Do I need to have an official diagnosis to attend?

Not at all. Whether you're formally diagnosed, self-identifying, or just exploring, you're welcome here.

Is this event free?

Yes — this webinar is completely free to attend. However, tips will be welcome at the end of the event.

Is this space LGBTQIA+ affirming?

Yes — fully and intentionally. As a queer, nonbinary person myself, I understand how often neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ experiences intersect, especially in late-diagnosed adults. This space is created to be inclusive, safe, and validating for people of all gender identities and sexual orientations.
