About the Speaker
Sherry Menor-McNamara
Sherry Menor is the President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii, a role she took on in 2013, making history as the youngest, first female, and first Asian to lead the organization in its 175-year history. Her career spans work in major cities including Tokyo, New York, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, and London, with positions at Sony Corporation, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Estee Lauder, Field Group, Elton John Production, and “60 Minutes” news and magazine show. She has also held government roles with the Hawaii State Legislature, U.S. Senator Daniel Akaka, and the Executive Office of the President of the United States. Currently, she serves on the boards of the Hawaiian Humane Society, the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE), and the U.S. Chamber’s Committee of 100. Under her leadership, the Chamber earned the 2018 ACCE State Chamber of the Year and two national awards in 2019.
Menor holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Hawaii’s William S. Richardson School of Law and an MBA from the Shidler College of Business. She also holds a bachelor's degree in political science from UCLA, pursued graduate studies at USC, and earned a certificate from Harvard Kennedy School’s Executive Education program. A graduate of the Omidyar Fellows Leadership Program, she has received numerous recognitions including the Girl Scouts of Hawaii Women of Distinction and the Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii’s Business Executive of the Year. Born in Tokyo and raised in Hilo, Hawaii, she is a certified yoga instructor who enjoys golfing, traveling, and spending time with her dogs, Kuma-chan and Bubbles.
