About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Many kids are curious about technology — but many families are afraid of it. This 2-hour online class is here to change that.

Designed especially for first- and second-generation immigrant teens (ages 13–18), this beginner-friendly session introduces your child to the exciting world of creating and build using AI-powered tools — without any pressure or prior experience.

In a supportive, guided space, your teen will:

  • Use Artificial Intelligence tools to create a real mini project
  • Learn how to “talk to AI” in simple ways that turn ideas into code
  • Build confidence by seeing what they can do with technology
  • Leave with tools and curiosity to keep learning — at their own pace

Who Can Join:

  • Teens ages 13–18 from 1st or 2nd generation immigrant families.
  • No coding or tech background needed or required.
  • Just bring a laptop and a willingness to explore.

Why Parents Should Consider Signing Their Kids Up:

  • This class eliminates the fear of tech — for both kids and parents
  • It's a safe first step into the world of AI, created for immigrant families
  • No prior experience is needed — just a laptop and curiosity
  • It could spark a future in tech, innovation — or something we haven’t imagined yet
  • Parents are welcome to join, watch, or participate too.

What to Expect:

  • A 2-hour live session with hands-on instruction (and breaks).
  • A relaxed, fun space where every question is welcome.
  • A link to join — no downloads needed.

Your Teen Will Leave With:

  • A real, AI-assisted coding project they created themselves.
  • A custom AI cheat sheet for future learning.
  • A sense of pride — and proof that they don’t have to be afraid of technology.

From One Immigrant to Another

My name is Epa Bizimana. I was born in Rwanda and came to the U.S. as a teenager. I have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and have spent the last two decades building software and leading tech teams.

I know firsthand what it feels like to grow up in a new country, trying to figure things out while chasing big dreams, and that is why I have decided to put this course together to help other immigrants like me.

This course is designed to eliminate fear, spark creativity, and show immigrant youth what’s possible when they realize they belong in tech too.

Immigrant kids deserve a front-row seat to the future — not a spot on the sidelines.
