Event description
How does a community confront its racist past? What does it mean for today? Can we heal and move forward together?

About this Event

Miami Shores Village is special in many ways, but the same social, economic and political forces that shaped it have been at work in towns all over the United States. South Florida People of Color's Black History Month exhibit for 2020, The Black History of Miami Shores, is meant to start a conversation about our community's shared history within the context of local, national and international events.

The Unity360 Community Dialogue is a 3-hour facilitated workshop offering the opportunity for a deeper exploration of the exhibit's themes. This event is open to the public; you do not need to be a Miami Shores resident to benefit from attending.

Bring an open mind and a brave heart. Snacks will be provided!

The Black History of Miami Shores exhibit will be on display at this event . You may see it on other days from February 7 - 28, 2020 at Brockway Memorial Library, 10021 NE 2nd Ave in Miami Shores.

This Unity360 Community Dialogue workshop is presented by South Florida People of Color and is hosted by our community partner, the Miami Shores Community Church. Black History Month 2020 is supported by a grant from the Miami Shores Community Alliance.
