In 2024, 107 people were killed by guns in the city of Atlanta- and guns remain the leading cause of death for children and young adults nationwide. The Metro Atlanta Peace Collaborative believes our children deserve to grow up in a world free from gun violence. This Gun Violence Awareness Month, we invite all concerned community members and stakeholders to join us at UNITY in Our CommUNITY - a day long convening focused on building a robust network of community violence intervention and prevention initiatives. Through conversations and focused discussions with national experts and local leaders, we will deepen our understanding of the public health approach to preventing gun violence and identify the role everyone can play in building a culture of peace in metro Atlanta.
