This free training is designed for law enforcement officers, investigators and support personnel who work on missing persons and unidentified remains cases. The symposium will enhance participants’ knowledge of national databases, available resources, and best practices for working with families of the missing.

Course Content

Presentation 1: Using the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) for investigations

Presentation 2: The role of the National Center for Missing and ExploIted Children (NCMEC) in assisting law enforcement, available services and support tools

Panel Discussion: Victim advocacy, how to best support and communicate with families, trauma-informed approaches, and collaboration with advocacy organizations


Attendees will earn 3 hours of P.O.S.T. credit.

Training is free and snacks will be provided.


Free parking is available in the parking deck located at 125 West Trinity Place (attached to the rear of the Courthouse).
