About this event

Join us for our next Continuing Education presentation with Paul Baker, PhD, creator of the PersonBrain™ Model, a revolutionary neuro-relational framework that supports youth experiencing trauma through connection, understanding and developmental repair.

The PersonBrain™ Model is rooted in neuroscience and integrates principles from positive psychology, applied behavioral analysis and relational theory. This holistic, trauma-informed approach focuses on restoring a young person’s sense of safety, relatedness, and personal efficacy, essential foundations for healing and growth.

Dr. Baker will explore how trauma disrupts normal development and how caregivers and clinicians can “reimburse” youth for the critical developmental experiences they’ve missed. Participants will learn how to assess and respond to needs across six key domains:

  • ``Relational – building safe, supportive relationships and managing conflict
  • Experiential – engaging youth in meaningful activities and daily routines
  • Eco-Cultural – addressing cultural identity, family dynamics and belonging
  • Biological – understanding physical behaviors such as hygiene and hypervigilance
  • Regulatory – supporting emotional regulation, impulse control and coping
  • Academic – fostering participation, school readiness and achievement

This session will provide concrete tools and strategies for clinicians, educators, and caregivers working with youth impacted by trauma, particularly those in residential, school-based, or therapeutic environments. Participants have the opportunity to earn three CE credits

“Understanding the PersonBrain™ Model: A Neuro-Relational Approach to Trauma-Informed Care”is sponsored by the Tri-County Collaborative, a full continuum of care serving the behavioral health needs of children, adolescents and adults in Ventura, Santa Barbara and Los Angeles Counties.
