Understanding the Impostor Syndrome in Creative Work
Overview
Welcome to our virtual event Understanding the Impostor Syndrome in Creative Work! Impostor Syndrome -- or Impostor Phenomenon -- is a pervasive, anecdotal experience in which a professional feels like a "fraud" or "impostor" in certain settings or careers. This is often intersectional and can lead to worsened mental health, decreased wellbeing, and burnout if not addressed.
Led by a Professional Creative with a background in mental health and a Doctorate in Health Science, you will learn what "impostor syndrome" is, the impact it has on creatives, and begin the discussion of how to address it. This workshop is intended to be an overview with opportunity for Q&A and additional resources.
This workshop is geared toward creative professionals such as:
- musicians
- voice actors
- fine artists
- authors
- poets
- and other creatives or performers
