Understanding the Identification of Dyslexia

The ALTA TN and GA Chapters are hosting a VIRTUAL event aimed at demystifying dyslexia identification and assessments. We will be providing a 2-hour training to explore the identification of dyslexia through the lens of the current IDA definition, which serves as a guideline for understanding this specific learning disability.

Participants will develop a deeper understanding of:

  • Characteristics and underlying causes of dyslexia
  • The data that would suggest the need to consider dyslexia
  • Test instruments that specifically evaluate the core features of dyslexia
  • The cognitive and academic profiles that inform an accurate identification
