In this 60-minute webinar, we’ll walk through what these penalties are in 2025, how they’ve changed due to inflation adjustments, and best practices to ensure your business (and HR team) stays compliant. Attendees will also get access to tools and checklists to audit their current practices and avoid costly mistakes.
Who Will Benefit:

- Q&A with Experts: Bring your specific situations—get advice for your industry, your size of business, or your HR system.
Key Facts / What Has Changed:
OSHA’s civil penalties were adjusted effective January 15, 2025. Serious and other-than-serious violations (including posting requirements) can now each carry maximum penalties of $16,550 per violation.
Wilful or repeated OSHA violations now have maximum penalties of up to $165,514 per violation.
I-9 / E-Verify related civil penalties have also increased. In 2025, some I-9 violations now reach up to $28,619 per offense (particularly for knowingly employing unauthorized workers).
E-Verify provides near-instant confirmation that each new hire is authorized to work in the U.S., which dramatically reduces the chance of expensive hiring mistakes. In today’s environment—where federal work-site enforcement and random audits can happen without notice—this verification acts like an insurance policy. It protects your company from costly fines, lost productivity, and reputational damage if an employee is later found to be ineligible, regardless of which administration is in office.
