About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Understanding My Sexual Orientation for Those on the Spectrum is a class created specifically for neurodivergent individuals who want a safe, supportive, and structured environment to explore their sexual orientation. Many autistic folks experience sexuality and attraction in unique ways that don’t always fit into mainstream categories or timelines. This workshop honors those differences by offering clear, compassionate language, sensory-considerate discussion formats, and opportunities for personal reflection.

Together, we’ll explore concepts like romantic vs. sexual attraction, different types of relationships (monogamous, polyamorous, queerplatonic), and common labels used in LGBTQIA+ communities—while making space for questioning, nuance, and individual interpretation. We’ll also talk about how to navigate internalized expectations, sensory preferences, and communication styles that can affect how we understand or express our identities.

This class is open to anyone on the autism spectrum, whether you're just beginning to explore these questions or have been out for years but want deeper insight. It’s okay not to have the “right” words or to still be figuring things out—this is a space where curiosity and self-discovery are celebrated. Facilitated by an experienced educator and therapist, this session will prioritize consent, comfort, and community-building every step of the way.
