To define traumatic grief and understand how traumatic grief and other invisible wounds impact client's trauma and recovery
To define persistent complex bereavement disorder or prolonged grief disorder in the DSM5TR
To understand how traumatic grief is related to the diagnosable grief disorder but different
To identify potential evidence based practice and anecdotal practices for addressing traumatic grief.
About Our Speaker
Presenter: Rev. Nicki Arnold Swindle, LICSW, BCC-MH, 200-RYT
The Rev. Nicki Arnold Swindle is a board certificed clincial mental health chaplain and Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who currently services as a VA and Army Reserve Hospital Chaplain (75th Field Hospital), educator of other chaplains at the US Army Institute for Religious Leadership ( Ft. Jackson, SC), is an Army Certified Family Life Chaplain, a relationship educator, and the Interim Director of Social Work Practical Education. She has focused most of her work on military service members, veterans, and their families, with emphasis on invisible wounds, including PTSD, moral injury, and traumatic grief. Ms. Swindle sees her work as helping people to health relationships within themselves, with others, and with greater community.
