Human trafficking is a nationwide epidemic and Florida is ranked third in the nation. Our most vulnerable population is at risk for Human Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation; children who are victims of abuse, experience violence in the home, reside in foster care , reside in poor neighborhoods, runaways, unaccompanied minors/dependent immigrant, etc. Judges are in a prime position to identify victims and respond to their needs effectively. This training will provide you with information on : The Trafficking Victim’s Protection Act, Florida’s Anti-Human Trafficking Laws, the indicators of human trafficking, the trauma behind the abuse, and the importance of teamwork to identify these victims.
