Raise awareness of hidden gambling harms in minority ethnic communities- tools, support, and strategies for all community champions

Join this 60-minute training from the Chance for Change project-a collaboration between Race Equality First and Ara Recovery for All, exploring gambling-related harms and their impact on individuals, families, and communities.

This interactive session raises awareness of gambling-related harms, with a particular focus on their disproportionate impact on minority ethnic groups, often referred to as the “harm paradox.”

Participants will gain practical tools to identify and support anyone experiencing harmful gambling, including friends, family members, and community members.

What we’ll cover:
• Understanding gambling vs. harmful gambling
• Facts, figures, and risk factors
• The “harm paradox” and cultural considerations
• Recognising signs of gambling-related harm
• Supporting individuals and their families
• Early intervention and signposting

This session will equip you with the knowledge and confidence to identify harmful gambling behaviours, offer appropriate support, and contribute to reducing stigma and promoting wellbeing in the communities you work with.

We hope you find the session valuable and look forward to your attendance.
