Understanding Autism through Lived Experiance -

Thank you to PAACT (Parents and Autistic Children Together) for providing the space to deliver this creative workshop, and to LAS (Lincolnshire Autistic Society) for their continued support in bringing lived experience workshops to the neurodivergent community.

This is a compassionate and interactive peer-led group workshop, combining:

  • Personal insight
  • Current research
  • Practical, inclusive strategies

Rooted in autistic-led perspectives, the workshop offers:

  • Flexible activity choices
  • Real-world discussion
  • Accessible and inclusive learning for all

Participants will have chance to explore key areas of their choice, including:

  • Sensory needs and processing
  • Workplace and education barriers
  • Co-occurring conditions
  • Identity-first language and representation

The session is designed to foster empathy, deepen understanding, and encourage supportive action.

There is an activity choice that focuses on - Discussion 1: Lived Experience Matters! - Discussion 2: Sensory & Processing Differences. - Discussion 3: Autism in work and Education. - Activity 1: What does autism mean to you? or - Activity 2: Scenario Simulation. this is a choice from the group.

Absolutely. We provide: Noise-reducing headphones and fidget tools. A designated quiet room for breaks. Clear signage and visual schedules. Information on potential sensory stimuli in advance.

Will I receive a certificate of attendance?
