Understanding Autism: Practical strategies to help children thrive

This course aims to provides Norlanders with a clear understanding of Autism alongside practical and research-informed strategies to support children. Participants will explore guiding principles for encouraging positive behaviours, including creating a considerate environment, using effective language, applying purposeful praise, strengthening relationships, and meeting sensory needs. Nicola will also provide advice to build a practical toolkit of strategies you can use to support children when they are struggling or displaying behaviour you would prefer not to see.
