Course Description:
This course will help clinicians understand panic and panic attacks from a diagnostic, biological, and clinical perspective and will prepare them to effectively treat panic and panic attacks. Participants will learn effective and evidence-based treatment modalities and approaches for assisting patients struggling with panic, panic attacks, and panic disorder. Upon completion of this course, participants will be well-versed in their comprehension of panic as well as in their ability to treat it.

About Your Instructor:
Phil Lane is a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist in private practice specializing in the treatment of anxiety, panic, life transitions, men’s issues and trauma. He is the author of the books Understanding and Coping with Illness Anxiety (Routledge, 2023), The Narrative Therapy Workbook for Self-Esteem (New Harbinger, 2025), and Overcoming Panic and Panic Attacks (Sheldon Press, 2025). Phil is a frequent contributor to Psychology Today magazine and other publications. He practices from a humanistic and existential psychotherapy perspective, drawing from various modalities and tailoring therapy to the needs of the individual.
