Understanding Adiction for the Church

This event is open to anyone. Uplift Appalachia’s mission is to provide education, training, consulting, and connecting to churches and organizations, motivating and equipping them to love and serve those living with addictions, mental health, and other life challenges on their journey to flourishing.

Attendees will learn scripturally and scientifically sound information about addiction to get started walking with people:

  • The Extent of the Problem
  • Roots of Addiction
  • What Drugs Do
  • Daily Life Struggling with Addiction
  • Treatment and Recovery Options
  • Personal Safety, Liability, and Boundaries
  • Self-Care

This training will be led by some of the experts in the field working at the intersection of health, faith, ACEs, and addiction. After presenting these concepts, we will provide possible applications of the material with guidance about sustainability and opportunities for further equipping.
