Under One Atap: The Mind
Overview
We’ve been craving a space to speak about matters of the mind, body, spirit, and our communities - hence, we are having 'Under One Atap', a space for creatives and community members to convene.
At every gathering, we will discuss a topic close to our hearts (and sometimes our tummies), where we learn from the community to share and create together - bringing in artists, cooks, practitioners to stir the pot.
For our first session on “ The Mind”, we are bringing artists, advocates, and experts to tackle and grapple with our mental health experiences collectively - and make sense of our individual, yet shared experiences.
3pm
We are bringing together a Community Art Exhibit: Artists on our Mind - where artists of differing mediums present a landscape of works - physicalising the landscape of mental health experiences in their own expression. Come into the space - and enter the mind of our Artist line-up!
Featured Artists: SENSOL.AP, Alecia Neo, Pixin, starvingfish, Aneesa, Mrazziepie, and more!
3.30pm
Conversations with Artists, Advocates and Experts - We gather together to unpack mental health from varying perspectives, articulating and navigating mental health challenges of youth in Singapore.
Details will be released soon - Stay tuned!
4.45pm
Make Sense & Make Stuff: with our communal discourse and craft-making activity! Make little friends to accompany you on your journey, while dis
We will be having a Walkthrough of Community Art Exhibit - interacting with various Artists works and drawing meaning from our own retrospection.
Each session will also feature snacks from home-based businesses :)
Join us for a lovely afternoon - to reset and recalibrate our minds. See you Aliwal Arts Centre on the 30th November, 3pm for our 1st session of Under One Atap!
What is "Under One Atap" ?
A spin-off of Atap Assembly, ‘Under One Atap’ is a series of youth-focused community events aimed at bringing lightness, warmth, and a space for us to dissect the noise together, navigating conversations that may otherwise never be surfaced.
With each gathering, we are creating a participatory experience - to centre arts, community, and culture. No matter if you are a salaryman or an oddball - we hope to break apart the walls between us, and to house everyone - under one roof.
Make stuff, make meaning, make friends - Under our Atap!
