About this event

Fashion • Fashion

Ann Lowe created one of the most famous wedding gowns of the 20th century for Jackie Bouvier Kennedy, yet she remained “Society’s Best-Kept Secret” for most of her career. Lowe’s significant contribution to American couture is only just now being fully realized.

Join curator Amanda Cacich to marvel at Ann Lowe’s stunning couture techniques and admire her perseverance as a Black designer in 20th century America.

Kpoené Kofi-Bruce, Creative Director of Mignonette Bridal and Ette the Wedding Tailor in Chicago, will share how Ann Lowe has inspired subsequent generations of formalwear designers and her own journey as a woman of color in the fashion industry.
