Uncorked: A San Diego Wine Guide Celebration
Overview
Hello Wine Lovers!
Did you know that San Diego County is home to over 100 wineries? And that there is a burgeoning wine country within a 30-minute drive from your front door?
If not, let's change that.
Join us at Uncorked: A San Diego Wine Guide Celebration for the release of Edible San Diego 's 80th issue: a Special Edition Local Wine Guide highlighting San Diego County wine country.
We’ll be at Hungry Hawk Vineyards & Winery in Escondido on December 4 from 5 to 8pm to mingle, sample, and dine in a quintessential San Diego winery setting. A Lo Fresco is catering the evening with courtesy appetizers and a temptingly full and fresh menu to complement Hungry Hawks's whites and reds.
THE PARTY
Your $25 ticket purchase includes one beverage, appetizers, and a free hard copy of issue 80. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Women’s Wine Alliance Scholarship program.
Tickets are limited. Must be 21+.
BACKSTORY
San Diego is recognized as the birthplace of California wines and offers rural and urban wine tasting experiences that capture the essence of San Diego's beautiful countryside and eclectic urban settings. You can get to know local grapes, grape growers and winemakers since so many local wineries are at a boutique scale, giving a personal touch to your wine tasting experience.
THE GUIDE
Whether you’re experienced or a novice, this first-of-its-kind guide is designed to make it easy and fun to explore the best-kept secret of San Diego County wine. In it, you’ll find stories about the history of San Diego’s wine industry, vibrant visuals and imagery that showcase the beauty of viticultural practices happening here, and consider the land and the people behind each glass. There’s a custom crossword, comic strip, grape guide—and the pièce de résistance—an illustrated countywide map and tasting room directory.
With this special edition, Edible San Diego’s editors, collaborators, contributors, and more recognize that the local wine industry is a significant part of our agricultural community and the local economy that's worth celebrating.
