Join us for the Opening Reception of DIA/spora on Thursday, October 2nd from 7-9pm at Teatro LATEA.

DIA/spora is a new photography exhibition by Igor Martiniouk that captures Ukrainian youth in New York’s diaspora as they honor Taras Shevchenko’s legacy, wear vyshyvankas, and rehearse folk traditions passed down through generations.

Unlike images of war, these photographs highlight quiet acts of resilience—culture preserved in community spaces far from sirens and destruction.

Opening night will include remarks followed by the curated talk with the artist facilitated by Anastasia Gudko. Drinks and light bites from Veselka, a local Ukrainian restaurant will be served/ It’s a chance to connect with others engaged in Ukrainian cultural life and reflect on identity, tradition, and endurance in the face of erasure.

The exhibition will be on view daily from 3:00–6:00pm, October 2–12 at Teatro LATEA, and is free and open to the public.

This ticket is for the Opening Night only on Thursday, October 2nd.
